On August 14th 2020, I saw the Perseids meteor shower from a hill. I could clearly see many bright stars streaming across the sky, as if they were falling down on the earth. The dazzling sight was enough to inspire me to compose this overture.
"Starlit Landscape" was commissioned by the Kawagoe High School Band, Kawagoe City, Saitama, Japan and premiered on March 20th, 2023 by the band and Mr. Hiroki Mori, director.

2020年8月14日、ペルセウス座流星群を見るために福岡県の秋吉台に登りました。
済んだ空を流れる星はまるで大地に降り注ぐかのように流れ、その美しさ、眩しさに感化されて作曲に至りました。
埼玉県・川越市立川越高等学校吹奏楽部により委嘱され、2023年3月20日、森裕貴氏の指揮により初演。
