Let It Shine Like a Star

Grade 3.5
Performance Time: 6'30"
Publisher: Eighth Note Publications / Alfred (2017)

Let It Shine Like A Star opens with a rhythmical and energetic pulse in the key of B flat major. Immediately following is a "pop" theme featuring many syncopated rhythms. Change to E flat major, a beautiful middle section grows broader and leads to the main theme again.
This work was commissioned by the Mizumaki Minami Junior High School Band, Fukuoka, Japan as as their contest piece in early 2014. At that time, a "snow" movie was a big hit worldwide. That is why I used the words "Let It" for the title of music.
Premiered in July 27th 2014, conducted by Mr. Shinichi Uemura, director.
